A baseball season worth celebrating.

Guests enjoyed steak, baked potatoes, rolls, salad, and banana pudding.


Head coach Brad Davis spoke glowingly about this baseball season at Tuesday night's awards banquet. He said it was a lot of fun and praised the players for their hard work. He also said they were good kids.

Davis had lots to be proud of. A region title and the program's first elite eight appearance since 2009. Though the season ended earlier than fans hoped, there was still lots to celebrate.

That included selections voted on by coaches for the 3-AA All Region Team. Carter Raffield was named Pitcher of the Year. Second team selections were: Shayne Cannon, pitcher. Cody Dennis, catcher. Benji Knighton, second base. Jack Fernandez, shortstop. Chandler Abney, outfield. Honorable mentions went to Nash Mullis for outfield and Chance Pittman at first base.

Cameron Thompson had a 3-0 record as a JV pitcher.


Besides certificates, specific awards were handed out based upon stats. Winners were as follows. JV Pitcher of the Year- Cameron Thompson. Best Offensive Player- Steven Knighton. Varsity awards. Benji Knighton was named Best Offensive Player. Dennis, Best Defense. Raffield was named Best Pitcher as well as shared Co-MVP honors with Knighton.

Head coach Brad Davis holds up a miniature bat that senior players would receive. It had each player's name laser cut in it. Teammates signed the bats following the program.


MVP was one of two awards voted on by the players. The other was the Captain's Award. It went to Knighton, Mullis, and Pittman. Though not official, managers Will Dykes, Carson Kuck, and Austin Rogers were given "3-AA Managers of the Year" awards for their hard work. Other presentations included seniors receiving their jerseys in special boxes and gifts from the seniors for the coaches.
