Grand Junction, Colorado is a familiar place to Craig Young. The former Middle Georgia College (now Middle Georgia State University) head coach took the Warriors (now Knights) to the NJCAA World Series four times during his 16 years in Cochran.

It was one of many achievements by Young in a 22-year coaching career that saw him accumulate a 761-380 record at both Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and Middle Georgia College. He won NJCAA Coach of the Year five times, NJCAA East Central District Coach of the Year four times, a three-time winner of the American Baseball Coaches Association Region Coach of the Year, and won Georgia Dugout Club Coach of the Year three times.

Current Houston Astros right fielder Josh Reddick is one of 47 players coached by young drafted by MLB teams. Friday night, Young was recognized for those accomplishments and more as he was inducted into the NJCAA Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. The ceremony was held in Grand Junction and in conjunction with the world series.

Young currently lives in Rochelle with his wife, former Bleckley County High School and current Wilcox County High School teacher Lynn Young. They have three children, Chase, Jessi, and Cal.
