Bailey Odom tosses to Caroline Thrower at first base.

BCHS opened the regular season Monday afternoon at Telfair County. The Lady Royals will be without pitcher Riley Edge for at least two weeks due to a foot injury.

Jordan Williams sets to throw from short.

Leading 1-0 on Emily Sanders' second inning triple, Telfair tied the game on a groundout in the third. BC had runners at second and third with two out in the fourth but didn't score. It was the second time they stranded two runners, having failed to capitalize on two on with no outs in the first.

Tori Long steals second base.

A run on two outs in the bottom of the fourth and two more with two outs in the fifth made it 4-1 Lady Trojans. In the seventh, Caroline Thrower singled with one out. Landa Dominy blasted a two-run home run, cutting the deficit to one. Aliyah Whitehead followed with a solo blast, tying the game.

Long and Emily Sanders run out to congratulate Landa Dominy on her two-run home run in the seventh.

BC loaded the bases with two outs. Tori Long singled home the go ahead run, but a runner at third who made the turn toward home was held up. The runner who tried to go to to third was doubled off before making it back to second base. Telfair loaded the bases with two outs. A hit batter followed by a single foiled Bleckley's comeback attempt 6-5. Five of six Lady Trojan runs came after two outs.

Aliyah Whitehead gets a forearm bump from assistant coach Phillip Hart after her solo home run..

Whitehead was 2 for 3 with 1 RBI. Sanders and Long each went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI. Abbey Sims went 2 for 3. The Lady Royals open home and region play tomorrow against Northeast at 5:30 pm.
