Last year, the Lady Royals lost a pair of close games to Dodge County, a one-run game in Eastman, a nine-inning affair at home. Monday, that frustration continued in their closest loss yet.

Jordan Williams sets to throw from short.

A two-out, bases clearing double in the third put Dodge ahead 3-0. After having first and second with no outs in the home half but failing to score, BC got two in the fourth. Trailing 4-2 in the sixth, Aliyah Whitehead's two-run single capped a three-run inning. All came with two outs.

Dodge loaded the bases with no outs in the seventh, scoring four times. BC got two on with two outs in the home half but did not score, losing 8-5.

Whitehead finished 2 for 4. Bailey Odom and Abbey Sims each went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI. Emily Sanders was 2 for 3. Jordan Williams was 1 for 2 with 1 RBI.

In other news, Riley Edge went back into a walking boot with more trouble from her foot injury. The September 12 home game versus Dublin postponed due to Irma will be made up September 25 at 5:30 pm. Bleckley hosts East Laurens tomorrow at 5:30 pm.
