After a week off, BCHS opened region play and celebrated Homecoming against Northeast Macon. The Raiders were 3-0 going in.

Arkenzio Hayes and Demarcus Smith team up on a tackle.

A fumble on Bleckley’s first possession put the Raiders on their own 47. They would be stopped at the BC 23. Arkenzio Hayes blocked a field goal attempt. Nykeem Farrow put the Royals ahead on their second drive, going 72 yards to the end zone. With 2:38 left, it was 7-0. Northeast drove to the BC 7 in the second but was stopped on fourth down.

Though a Royal drive that got near the Raider 20 ended with an interception, BC would hold. On their next possession, Farrow got his second touchdown run of the game. A last-ditch drive by Northeast would not produce points and the Royals took a 14-0 lead into the half.

The Raiders though would take advantage of Bleckley’s third turnover of the game. It came in the third when a ball was intercepted on the Raider 30. A Northeast touchdown run with 3:27 left cut the lead to 14-7. BC’s defense would set up the offense in the fourth. Forced to punt from their own end zone, Bleckley got the ball on the Raider 38.

Landon Grizzard had a quarterback sack.

With 9:52 left in the fourth, Farrow scored his third touchdown of the game. Later, the Royals went for it on fourth and eight from the Raider 31 but the pass was picked off. Justin Rozier would pick off a Raider pass on the Northeast 39. His second interception with under two minutes left sealed the Royals 21-7 win.

Bleckley will be without one player on offense for the foreseeable future. Wide receiver Jack Fernandez broke a bone in his left leg in the first quarter.

Offensive leaders include Farrow who rushed for 156 yards on 17 carries and Torenio Davis who caught four passes for 32 yards. Defensively, Rozier had eight tackles, seven solo tackles. Landon Grizzard had seven tackles, six solo. Andrew Butler and Allen Rogers each had 4.5 total tackles, three solo.
