Hilary Barker was hired as the new assistant principal for Bleckley Elementary at a called Board of Education meeting held last night. Barker will begin in the 2018-19 school year.

She'll be taking over for Jenny Brooks, who was promoted from BCES assistant principal to principal. It was one of several personnel moves coming from the FY 18-19 Staffing Leadership Plan approved by the board at the February 13 meeting.

Brooks will be taking over for Michelle Dyal who will be going to the Success Academy. Current principal Denise Warren will be retiring at the end of the school year. Stan Thompson will be new Transportation Director, replacing the retiring Ernie Purser.

Dr. Cindy Felkins will be moving from BCHS where she was lead SPED teacher and graduation coach to the central office as SPED Director for the school district. Superintendent Steve Smith said in an email reply that Debbie Puckett, who was District SPED Director as a 49 percent salary employee, was hired to be District SPED Director for Pulaski County Tuesday night.
