After trailing the entire game Friday night at Northeast, BCHS took the lead with 1:37 left on a 16-yard Zach Lassiter to Terrance Rozier touchdown pass. Lassiter caught a two-point conversion from Bryce Bailey, giving the Royals a 21-20 lead.
The Raiders though drove from their 35 and got a touchdown pass with 16 seconds remaining. The Royals got to Northeast’s 45 but time expired as they lost 27-21. Bleckley had just 242 yards total offense. Lassiter accounted for 184 of them, going 13 of 23 with two touchdowns, one interception. Arkenzio Hayes had a 75-yard kickoff return.
Willie Chambers, Mika Floyd, and Zack Stanley each had 5.5 total tackles, three solo. Ty Williams had 4.5 total tackles. Ethan Hulsey and Willie Harris had four each. September 28 will be both youth football night recognizing rec. department football players and cheerleaders as well as cancer awareness night when the Royals host Dublin. Kickoff is 7:30 pm.
