Jalexia Taylor cuts through the defense to score.

BCHS played their last regular season non-region games at Westside Friday night. While the previous meeting in Cochran featured a pair of close games, the rematches ended in double digit losses.

Tesa Taylor shoots over a defender.

Trailing 19-12 at halftime, seven straight by Westside pushed the deficit to 16. Jalexia Taylor’s basket early in the fourth drew the Lady Royals within nine only to see the Lady Seminoles pull away. Marklayla Jenkins hit a three with seconds left to make the final score 48-35. She and Taylor had 12 points each.

Ethan Hulsey got this shot to go despite a double team.

The Royals were down just 19-14 after one quarter but three consecutive three-point shots by the Seminoles were part of a 13-2 run. Westside hit five three’s in the second to lead 48-33 at halftime. BC went on to lose 86-66. Nykeem Farrow had 28 points. Shontavian Manuel scored 10 points.

Deandre Pitts leaps to put a shot up.

Teams will have a week off before returning to action January 29 at Southwest. Varsity tip time is 6 pm.
