Call it a comeback: last-inning heroics send Royals to second round.

These two fans made it known who their favorite Royal players were.

Going into Friday's first-round playoff series versus Jeff Davis, Bleckley baseball fans had seen several heart-stopping moments. From rallying down seven to win at Toombs to almost coming back from ten down in Dodge, one has needed a strong stomach (or a package of Tums) to follow the Royals this season.

Chase Young dives at a Yellow Jacket player trying to score.

However, those games couldn't possibly match what they saw in Cochran Friday versus the Yellow Jackets. In game one, Tucker Darsey's single put Bleckley on top in the first. A ball which bounced past the catcher and into the stands in the second put BCHS up 2-0.

After getting out of bases loaded, one out situations in the second and fourth innings, Jeff Davis scored three times in the fifth. Another single by Darsey tied the game at three. In the sixth, with Greg Woodard on via a single, Chase Raffield was intentionally walked with two outs. That bought Ashton Cody to the plate.

Ashton Cody makes a catch in center.

Cody's first hit of the game was his biggest, a three-run home run to put Bleckley on top. The Royals would win game one 6-3. Tucker Darsey, who picked up the pitching win, was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. Greg Woodard was 2 for 3 as was Chase Raffield.

Phillip Giddens tosses to John-Caleb White at second.

The 'Jackets were the home team in game two. Bleckley missed a chance to score in the second, leaving runners at second and third with one out. Jeff Davis put seven runs on the board. BCHS' deficit was 8-0 after three innings.

The team celebrates Ashton Cody's sixth-inning home run which gave the Royals the win.

Each team scored twice in the fourth. It was the fifth, the inning where the Royals would begin so many of their comebacks, that BCHS began to rally. Three runs cut the deficit to 10-5. Two consecutive steals of home plate in the sixth drew them within 10-7. Then in the seventh, another rally was completed.

Four runs, the last coming on John-Caleb White's single with two outs, gave the Royals an 11-10 lead. Greg Woodard pitched a scoreless bottom of the seventh to seal the comeback. Bleckley swept the team that had beaten them twice this season. They picked up their first playoff wins in baseball since 2004.

Outfield fans rise to their feet as Dylan Floyd catches the last out of game two.

Woodard picked up the win in relief, going 5 2/3 innings. Tucker Darsey was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI. Phillip Giddens was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. John-Caleb White was 2 for 4 with 1 RBI.

Players and coaches celebrate after securing the first-round sweep of the Yellow Jackets.

Bleckley plays at Westside-Augusta in the second round of the AA state playoffs. Check BleckleyProgress.com for details on date and time.

In a scene remniscent of football, fans gathered with the team to hear the coaching staff's post-game comments.
