Cross Country in Bleckley County enjoyed another successful season. Both the middle and high school teams won region. The Runnin' Royals finished fourth and fifth at state respectively.
Where does the success come from? Often cases, the talent has already developed a love of running from attending cross country camp held each year by coach Shelly Cranford. Thursday was the last day for the camp for ages Kindegarten through Second grade. The camp was held at the cross country course on the campus of Bleckley Elementary.
With the help of some of the Runnin' Royals, the campers learned various aspects of running such as warming up properly. Thursday, the campers participated in a race. Times for each class looked like this:

The campers were all presented medals, certificates, a t-shirt, and a paperweight. A few years from now, as Cranford referenced during his closing comments, you may see some of the campers names on the board at the cross country couse.
