Cohen Knighton loves to be on the stage. The eight-year old played "Bashful" this summer in Bleckley Summer Theatre Camp's Production of Snow White. Last year, he was "Spot" in their production of 101 Dalmations. He's a Transofmers fan and loves his sister LeeLee
Knighton though has a variety of health issues. Aspergs Syndrome, Tourette's, ADHD, sensory and anxiety issues as well as a congentital heart defect. He joined Easter Seals in 2010, referred to the program by another mom in the "Champions For Children" project that provides funds to families of children who are medically fragile or special needs.
This year, Cohen will join other children as part of the Easter Seals "Walk With Me" event. It's the first year he's participated in the walk. Cohen is the son of Mike and Tina Knighton.
"Walk With Me Middle Georgia" is a 1.5 K and 5K walk and run. Similar to Relay For Life, particpants join a team and get sponsors. The event will be held at McConnell-Talbert Stadium in Warner Robins at 9:30 am on September 29.
Knighton's team is called "Cohen's Crusaders." He, along with the other children, are serving as honorary ambassadors of the event. There will be live music, face painting, a silent auction, amongst other entertainment during the day. Proceeds raised will go to Easter Seals of Middle Georgia.
