Faith Harris gets under a high fly ball.

Pre season action continued for BCHS as they traveled to Effingham County High School for a scrimmage tournament. The Lady Royals played three of their five games, including an early matchup against a region foe.

Hannah Coulter makes use of the foul ground at Effingham County Middle School to get under the ball.

Against Putnam County, Bleckley took advantage of errors to score four in the first. Up 9-3 after three, they would go on to win 9-5. Aliyah Whithead was 2 for 2 with a triple. Kalee Kitchens was 2 for 2. Allison Collins was 1 for 2 with 1 RBI. Faith Harris was 1 for 2.

Taylor Dykes sets to throw to first.

Next up was a split Effingham squad (Effingham County gray.) BC scored three in each of the first two innings. Four in the fourth capped a 10-1 win. Allie Keel was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. Harris was 2 for 3 with 1 RBI. Taylor Dykes was 2 for 3. Hannah Coulter was 1 for 2 with 1 RBI. Collins and Elizabeth Mathis were 1 for 2.

Kalee Kitchers would get it in time for the out.

Bleckley's final opponent was Oglethorpe County. The Lady Patriots scored four in the second to go up 4-2. Tied at four in the fourth, Oglethorpe scored two more. A Collins RBI single cut the deficit to one but time ran out as the Lady Royals fell 6-5.

Holly Tedders slides safely into third.

Collins was 1 for 2. Jordan Williams was 1 for 2 with 1 RBI. Dykes and Coulter both doubled in going 1 for 2. Holly Tedders was also 1 for 2. Tournament play concludes Wedneesday with games at noon and 1:30 pm at Effingham County Middle School.
