Rivalry battles continued Friday as BCHS traveled to Hawkinsville. Like last week, the Royals had a winning streak going in, victors in the last three. However, the results were similar to last week.

Garrett Grizzard was in on the tackle.

Things got off to a good start as Tae Holiday returned the opening kick 89 yards for six points. Just 13 seconds in and the Royals led 7-0. Hawkinsville answered on their next drive, scoring on a 21-yard touchdown run. The kick failed but it was 7-6 with 8:37 left.

BC's next drive ended on an interception on their own 42. One play later, Dakota Sloan connected on a 42-yard touchdown pass. With the point after, it was 13-7 Devils with 6:57 left. In the second, Hawkinsville converted a 4th and 2 from the BC six to keep their drive alive.

They scored from five yards out and went up 20-7 with 8:37 left in the half. BCHS was back to punt after their last drive stalled following a quarterback sack. HHS blocked the punt and was on the Royal ten. They scored from two yards out and took a 27-7 lead to the half.

Tije'a Randall went for 12 yards on this run.

Bleckley held Hawkinsville on their opening possession of the second half. The Devil defense picked off a second pass on the Royals first drive. Despite starting from their own 32, their drive would be capped on a five-yard touchdown run. It was 34-7 with 5:47 left.

BCHS committed their third offensive turnover of the game on their next possession with a fumble on the 33. Sloan capped another short drive for the Hawkinsville offense, going in from a yard out with 11:21 left in the game as the Royals lost 41-7.

This is Landon Anderson's first year playing Royals football.

Bleckley's offense had 88 total yards, 84 on the ground, 56 of those yards came in the second half. Landon Anderson and Alan Rogers combined for 44 of those yards in the fourth quarter. The defense gave up 126 on the ground, 133 through the air with 104 of those yards coming in the first half.
