BCHS sought to rebound from last week's tough loss Friday at Macon County. Bleckley had won the last three against the Bulldogs but couldn't take advantage of good field position and had a couple of costly mistakes.

The Royals first drive started at Macon County's 44 yard line but a fourth and 7 from the 28 was unsuccessful. MC converted a fourth and goal from the two into a short touchdown run on their second possession. With 1:40 left. BC crossed the 50 on their next drive.

But a fourth and four pass from the 34 resulted in an interception plus 15 yard face mask penalty. While the Bulldogs converted a fourth and 2 from BC's 32, the Royal defense got a stop on fourth and nine from the 22 by forcing a fumble at their eight yard line.

It would be given back via a bad snap on a punt. Macon County got the ball at BC's 10. A 12-yard touchdown run with 3:11 left made it 14-0. The Royals got a fourth down conversion, fourth and three from the 47, on their final drive. But they were stopped on fourth and ten from the Bulldog 35 as the half wound down.

This catch by Austin Simmons was on fourth down.

Still down 14-0 in the fourth, a halfback pass was picked off and returned to the Royal 35. MC drove down the field and scored from four yards out with 8:24 left. The point after was blocked. Bleckley would again be stopped on fourth down, this time fourth and seven from their 45.

After running most of the game, the Bulldogs opened their passing game. They hit a 22-yard touchdown pass with 6:04 remaining. The two-point conversion capped all scoring in a 28-0 loss. Though the ground games were nearly equal, 91 second half passing yards helped Macon County outgain Bleckley 247-155.

Anthony Wright had 52 yards on 19 carries. With the loss, Bleckley must two of their final three games to make the playoffs. They'll try to begin that streak October 24 against Monticello. It'll be Homecoming. Kickoff is 7:30 pm.
