Slump continues for basketball teams.

BCMS came into Monday's home games versus East Laurens looking for momentum before the Christmas break. The Lady Barons had lost six in a row, the Barons four straight.

ZaTesa Taylor took a hard foul as she tried to drive.


Despite going nearly four minutes without a basket in the first, it was 10-6 East Laurens after one. Alyssa Fortune scored with under three minutes left in the second, BC's only basket. Bleckley was still within shouting distance, down 17-10 at halftime.

Though getting within four early, the Lady Falcons ended the third on an 11-2 run The Lady Barons would go on to lose 46-26.

Nykeem Farrow soars high for two.


Mykel Anderson had four points and Nykeem Farrow scored in the final minute to put the Barons up 7-3 after one. Jayleen James went 2 of 3 from three-point range in the second to give BC a 17-10 halftime lead.

Bleckley's offense cooled in the third and East Laurens was within 24-23 going to the fourth. A 7-2 Falcon run made it 30-26 with a minute left. Farrow hit a three with 44 seconds left but it wasn't enough in a 32-29 loss. Teams return to action January 8 at Dodge County. Tip time is 4 pm.
