The Barons opened MGMSAA tournament play Thursday night against Dublin. Despite losing both games, Bleckley had leads in both. Thanks to some last second heroics, they would lead when it mattered most.

Players battle for a rebound.

BCMS had an 8-6 lead after one quarter and was up one at halftime. Dublin though surged ahead in the third and carried a 26-21 lead to the fourth. A Nick Mack three in the first minute cut the deficit to two.

Shamar Rouse puts up the game winner.

They went about three minutes without scoring but were within four points. After a pair of Shamar Rouse free throws with a minute left, a Nykeem Farrow steal and layup cut the deficit to two. Bleckley though would miss free throws that could tie or give them the lead.

The referee signals the game is over as players react.

The Irish had two consecutive lane violations on free throws, the second came when they were up one with seven seconds left. Bleckley drove down the court and after several missed attempts, Rouse got a loose ball and flipped it in to give the Barons a 36-35 victory. He had 11.

Cheerleaders and fans stormed the court after the win.

Thursday's win was the first in MGMSAA tournament play for the boys since 2008. They'll take on JR Trippe in the semifinals Friday at 7:45 pm. Teams split during the regular season with each winning on the road.
