Track athletes advance to state.

After going north to Barnesville the past two years, it was time to go south as this year's state sectionals track meet was hosted by Fitzgerald and held at Ben Hill County Middle School.

The top eight athletes in each event advance to state. BCHS had a good day with eight girls and nine boys advancing in individual events as well as the girls 4x400 team finishing in the top eight. Results are as follows.

Girls:

Faith Harris- Seventh in pole vault.

Fellisia Young- Fifth in long jump, sixth in triple jump.

T'Keyah Pasby- Seventh in shot put.

Savannah Pryor- Sixth in discus.

Ellen Powell- First in 800 meter run, first in 1600 meter run.

Madison Powell- Eighth in 800 meter run.

Tori Deeson- Fifth in 3200 meter run.

Erica Rickerson- Seventh in 3200 meter run.

Bleckley Team "A"- Seventh in 4x400 relay.


Boys:

Cord Yearty- Fourth in discus.

Tije'a Randall- First in shot put.

Will Simmons- Second in pole valut.

Porter Arnold- Third in pole vault.

Anuj Patel- Fifth in 800 meter run.

Carl Ellis Corley- First in 1600 meter run

Dayton Cannon- Second in 1600 meter run

Austin Cook- First in 3200 meter run

Bronson Sanders- Second in 3200 meter run.

Girls state will be May 7-9 at Hugh Mills Stadium in Albany. Boys state will be May 14-16 at Jefferson High School.
