Mixed results for BCHS in Swainsboro.

BCHS looked to improve from last week's performance in Hazlehurst when they traveled to Swainsboro for the Rumble in the Jungle. One good bit of news coming from this week was that they would get a squad member back soon as the one out with a wrist injury got her cast off. She'll be back on the mat next time.

Despite less than good weather outside, a large contingent of supporters made the journey down I-16 in support. In terms of numbers, this was the biggest competition Bleckley had attended. They were one of the final AA teams to compete. As it was near time for them to enter, a loud chant of "Bleckley County" rang out.

Their routine got off to a fair start as all three stunt groups stayed up for the first time. Jumps were ok. But for the second straight week, there were issues with running tumbling. Three people had knees down on tumbling passes. The left side of the pyramid also did not stay up.

Fans though would applaud the efforts after it was done. BC would come away with a trophy, third place. Their scores were affected by 15 points in deductions for the tumbling issues and the other problems. The coming off week could prove useful, allowing them to rest as well as work on things.

The squad with coaches Christie Dean and Heather Davis.

Bleckley will be off until October 17 when they travel to Veterans High School for Battle of the Best.
