FFA Ag Mechanics Team wins state.

The Bleckley FFA Agricultural Mechanics Team won State FFA Agricultural Mechanics Career Development Event held Saturday at Fort Valley State University. Team members Cale Floyd, Henry Richardson, Jeff Miller and Adam Parker became eligible to participate in the state event after winning the Area 3 Agricultural Mechanics Career Development Event January 21 held at Fort Valley State.

The event included subject matter associated with machinery and equipment systems and energy systems including welding, electrical wiring, and small engine repair and maintenance. Team members participated in individual problem solving and skill development activities and took a written examination.

As the state champions, the team will now compete in national competition held in conjunction with the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis this October. The Agricultural Mechanics Career Development Event is sponsored by Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) as a special project of the Georgia FFA Foundation.
