Would you like to attend the races at Cochran Motor Speedway for free?

As you all know, Bleckley Progress tries to cover as much of the community as possible. But we are small in number. I cover a majority of events with my father (business manager David Whitaker) only able to fill in occasionally.

That leads me to the races at Cochran Motor Speedway. In the past, I’ve been fortunate to receive reports from Willis Wombles. However, he no longer works there. Most Saturdays I am busy with other events. I’m also not a follower of stock car racing, and am not really qualified to write about it.

That is why we (my dad and I) are looking to you, the readers. We are looking for someone who would be interested in providing race reports. While we can’t afford to pay, you would be provided with a press pass. I have spoken to track owner Chris Martin and have his permission to send someone to the races on our behalf. So you would be granted free access to the race.

The requirement would be simple. Provide a weekly report from Cochran Motor Speedway with a listing of winners from all races. Photos of local drivers winning would be welcomed but not required. The only requirement would be to have the report in by Wednesday to allow for promotion of the next race. You would get credit for all work submitted.

If you are interested in volunteering, or would like more information, please email BleckleyProgress@aol.com or call (478)230-6556. Thanks for reading.
