Sometimes, it's nice to have a relaxing evening. It was a busy baseball season for the Barons. They played 17 games, going 13-4. Bleckley made it to the MGMSAA semifinals, losing to Swainsboro.

Tuesday night, players, coaches, and parents gathered for the annual awards banquet. But it wasn't your average ceremony. Rather, it was a relaxed affair, like a family cookout.

Parents helped in cooking Tuesday. Jonathan Fordham (pictured) said the blessing.

Parents talked on the patio by the lunchroom. Players ran around on the grass. A grill simmered with hamburgers and hot dogs. As the food was just about done, head coach Mike Lee spoke.

He took time to thank the parents for their support this season. Lee was proud of what they'd accomplished, though of course he wanted them to make the title game. He wished the best to those moving on to high school and encouraged all to keep playing as much as possible.
