Tracy White, who came home to coach Bleckley County High School football after spending several years as an assistant in Dublin, has resigned as head football coach. The move came following a meeting this morning with Superintendent Steve Smith and BCHS Principal Trey Belflower.

White was hired in 2012 following the retirement of Sam Barrs. It was his first head coaching job. Bleckley went 8-3 his first season and hosted the first home playoff game in school history, losing to Early County. The next year saw BC go 9-3 and get the first home state playoff in school history win against Bryan County.

Bleckley's last playoff appearance came in 2014, finishing 5-6 and losing to Jefferson County in the first round. The team finished 1-9 last year, 2-8 this year. Included in those seasons were 42-7 and 55-14 blowouts to Dodge County.

Smith released the following statement. "After discussions among Coach White, Principal Belflower, and Superintendent Smith regarding BCHS football, Coach White resigned as head football coach today. He has informed his coaches and players of this decision. We truly appreciate Coach White's dedication to the players, the school, and our school system. We look forward to him continuing to serve our students in the future."

White finishes with a record of 25-29.
