It was a very busy night at the most recent Board of Education meeting held Tuesday night. They had many items to discuss such as high school gym expansion project. A called meeting will be held tonight at 7 pm in the board room to discuss bids and whether to move forward with the project.

One thing done every year at the May meeting is the coaching/extra curricular activity staffing plan for the next year. It was done and there are some new faces and familiar faces in new places. As announced at the meet and greet held earlier, Stacy Nobles with be Assistant Athletic Director as well as Special Teams Coordinator on Lassiter's football staff.

He's one of three new members of the staff including Sean Patrick (Offensive Coordinator), and Randall Owens. Owens, who was girls head basketball coach at Baldwin County High School will be the Royals boys head basketball coach. John Stanley will serve as assistant for both the boys and girls programs.

Teresa Gray, announced as the new Lady Royals softball head coach at Faith Harris' signing, was officially approved. Returning to coaching to serve as assistant will be former Lady Barons softball head coach Phillip Hart. Though not listed, Katie Beard (BCHS alum Katie Simmons) is expected to be a community coach.

Dave Wiegert will move from middle school to high school golf head coach. Danny Jones will take over the middle school program.

While Greg Collins will remain middle school head football coach, he'll have a new job in the spring. Collins will be assistant high school tennis coach. Taking over the middle school program will be this year's assistant Mallory Dyal along with newly hired (at Tuesday's meeting) parapro Dusty Jones.

Jones will be quite busy as he'll also be middle school assistant boys basketball coach under new head coach Garrett Collins as well as an assistant football coach for BCMS.. Collins takes over for William "Flip" Basby who will be resigning at the end of the year. Jones will be replacing Rich Hulsey, who served as an assistant girls and boys basketball coach. His resignation, effective at the end of this school year, was approved Tuesday night.

Stephanie Vickers will be middle scchool boys and girls head track coach. Assisting will be Shemeka Sanders who will also be girls assistant basketball coach. There will be new people leading the Royal Kingsmen Band. Robert Whitaker, previously hired, was officially listed as new band director. Hillary Cranford will be Dazzler Coordinator.

Though she'll be retiring as a teacher at the end of this school year, Debbie Caldwell was listed as an assistant track coach. She had expressed desire to continue in that role despite retiring.
