Nyra Waters sets to throw from second base.

For the second straight season, the 8-u softball team made the long trek down I-16 then east to Sylvania for the GRPA Class C State Tournament. Bleckley's opponent was Wilcox County. Wilcox defeated BC to win the Dodge Invitational played in June.

Zymori Colson caught the ball for the out.

Down 6-1 after two innings, Wilcox scored eight in the third. A four-run bottom of the fourth kept the game alive for BC, cutting what was a 17-3 deficit to ten. Though scoring twice in the fifth, there would be no rally as Bleckley lost 17-9.

Ateriah Taylor scores.

Daniya Bailey had two hits including a triple. Ateriah Taylor had two hits including a double. Zymori Colson, Emmie Williams, and Amya Rozier also had two hits. BC will try to stay alive tomorrow against host Screven County at 11:30 am.
