Middle Georgia State University will celebrate Unity Week by hosting Unity@MGA November 27-December 1. Sponsored bythe Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity, the Office of Experiential Learning, and MGA student, it will feature the creation of a public art installation.

From 9 am-3 pm during the week of November 27, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and interested community members are invited to stop by the Quad on the Cochran campus near the cafeteria to be a part of the public art installation creation. Participants will tie colorful yarn to the posts that reflect their personal identifiers.

Those individual yarns will intertwine with other yarn to create a web of connectiveness, A release states the structures will be created to "reflect our uniqueness and strengthen our ties to each other."

The goal of Unity Week is to create a dialogue on matters of diversity, inclusivity, and solidarity. For more information, contact Jenia bacote, (478)471-3627, or Chris Tsavatewa, (478)471-2088.
