Girls win big, boys slump continues.

BCHS wrapped up their season series with Dublin Friday night. Both teams sought to avenge frustrating losses in Dublin seven days ago. Though the Lady Royals did so emphatically, the Royals struggles continued.

Tesa Taylor gave BC a lead with this shot.


Down four after one quarter, Jahnaria Brown scored five of her seven second quarter points in the final minute, giving the Lady Royals a 33-27 halftime lead. BC blew the game open in the third with a 19-2 run. Dublin was held to four points in the fourth as BCHS won 73-44. Brown had 29 points.

Aliyah Whitehead scored 12 points. Chania McRae hit three three-point shots as part of an 11-point night. Keisha Anderson chipped in with 10 points.

RJ Barnes was back in the lineup for the Royals and scored on this play.


Though Torenio Davis bought the crowd to their feet with consecutive dunks in the final two minutes, the Royals trailed by eight after one quarter. BC got as close as three on a Shontavian Manuel basket in the second but trailed 37-31at halftime.

Mykel Anderson got fouled on this shot attempt.


A deficit as big as 10 was cut to four on a Mekell Farrow three in the final seconds. Dublin though socred six straight to begin the fourth. BCHS got within six with 1:50 left but couldn’t close the gap, losing their fifth in a row 65-59. Davis had 27 points. Mykel Anderson scored 11 points.

Bleckley has a matinee Saturday at Northside. Varsity games start at 3 pm.
