One of the keys to success for BCHS during their four-game winning streak has been the offense. Double digit scoring games against Hawkinsville and Toombs County. Clutch hits in wins against Jeff Davis and Dublin.

Sam Knighton scores in the sixth inning.

But in Monday’s rematch against Jeff Davis in Hazlehurst, the offense stumbled. Tied 1-1 after three innings, the Yellow Jackets scored four in the fourth. BC had two on with two out in the fifth but didn’t score. Two on with one out in the sixth produced one run via a Sam Knighton steal of home plate from an attempted double steal.

Shayne Cannon walked to lead off the seventh but was left stranded as the Royals lost 4-2. Brody Little went 3 for 4. Sam Knighton was 2 for3. Region play resumes tomorrow at Washington County. Game time is 5:30 pm.
