Steven Knighton sets to throw from third base.

Going back to last season, BCHS had lost three straight games to Fitzgerald. Thursday night made it four in a row due in part to an inability to capitalize on scoring opportunities.

Down 3-0 in the bottom of the third, a double play erased what was bases loaded with one out. Sam Knighton doubled in the fourth but did not score. First and second with no outs in the sixth produced no runs. Trailing 6-0 in the bottom of the seventh, pinch runner Carson Waters scored when the catcher dropped a third strike on Chandler Abney then overthrew the ball.

The Royals loaded the bases with one out but were again left stymied in losing 6-1. Nine runners were stranded. Cody Dennis was 2 for 3. It will be senior night tomorrow when Bleckley hosts Swainsboro in a doubleheader. Game one starts at 4:30 pm with recognition ceremonies taking place between games.
