It was an early morning for the Lady Royals as they had the first of two scrimmage games against Schley County at 10 am. Each game saw one team score late to win. Two in the bottom of the sixth in game one lifted BCHS to a 6-5 victory. Janylah West went 3 for 3. Katherine Purser, Macey Haley, Elisia Vickers, all went 2 for 3 with 1 RBI. Millie Hulsey was 2 for 3.

NenaBeth Mickle scores.

Schley had a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the third in game two only to see BC respond with six runs. The lead went back and fourth with Bleckley trailing 8-7 in the bottom of the sixth. Abbey Sims’ solo home run tied the game. Mallory Sears’ bloop single made it 9-8 Lady Royals. But a three-run top of the seventh by the Lady Wildcats proved to be the difference as Bleckley lost 10-9.

Regan Wimberly covers a bunt at first base.

Sims went 3 for 4 with 1 RBI. NenaBeth Mickle went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. Riley Edge was 2 for 3. Preseason play wraps up tomorrow at Southern Pines with games at 4 and 5:30 pm.
