In a long season, even good teams have lulls. Thursday afternoon’s game against Washington County was the 19th for BCHS, their fourth this week. After a good start offensively, things bogged down a bit. Still, the Lady Royals had little trouble sweeping the season series from the Lady Hawks.

Already up 6-0, Landa Dominy’s RBI double, her second of the game, added to the lead. Miranda Pearson singled to lead off the third but was left stranded. BC loaded the bases with one out in the fourth but could only get a Macey Haley sac fly. Following a Lady Hawk run in the fifth, the first two BC batters reached in the home half.

Abbey Sims’ third hit of the game, a two-run single, secured Bleckley’s 9-1 win. She finished 3 for 3 with two doubles and 3 RBI. Dominy went 2 for 2. Both Pearson and E’Lisia Vickers were 2 for 3. Haley was 1 for 2. The Lady Royals will make up last month’s rained out game against Dodge County September 17 at 5:30 pm in Eastman.
