The Lady Royals had little time to fret over yesterday’s loss to Dodge County as they had to take on an East Laurens team that pushed them for seven innings last month in Cochran. Thanks in part to big games from Abbey Sims and Bailey Odom, the rematch wasn’t as close.

Already leading 2-0 in the third, Sims unloaded a two-run home run. She had a two-run double in a three-run sixth that pushed the lead to 10-0. A four-run home half kept the game going but BC added two more in the seventh. One came on an Odom RBI double. BCHS went on to win 12-5.

Odom struck out 10 in seven innings, giving up just four hits and no earned runs. She also went 2 for 5. Sims went 3 for 5 with a pair of doubles and 4 RBI. Riley Edge was 2 for 5 with 2 doubles and 1 RBI. Caroline Thrower and Emily Sanders each went 2 for 5 with 1 RBI. The Lady Royals play at Telfair County September 20. JV at 4 pm, varsity to follow.
