Emily Sanders sets to throw from third base.

The Lady Royals took a break from region play, traveling to McRae to take on Telfair County. Last year, BCHS lost their season opener to the Lady Trojans on a walkoff. Some big offensive innings ensured history wouldn’t repeat itself Thursday.

Tied 2-2 in the second, Abbey Sims three-run home run capped a five-run second. Telfair answered with four in the home half. Sims second home run of the game, a two-run shot in the sixth, broke a 7-7 tie. Landa Dominy followed with a solo shot, the first back to back homers since last year’s game in McRae.

Bleckley went on to win 13-8. Sims finished 2 for 5 with 5 RBI. Dominy finished 2 for 4 with a double. Riley Edge went 3 for 5 with an RBI double. E’Lisia Vickers was 3 for 4. Emily Sanders went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI. Caroline Thrower was 2 for 5 with two doubles and 3 RBI.

Clara Rickerson would get under the tag at third base.

September 25 will be senior night when the Lady Royals host Dodge County. Ceremonies start at 5 pm, the game starts at 5:30.
