Middle School Sports
A not so frenzied affair for BCMS.

With Hurricane Michael gone and power slowly returning to the area, sports resumed. The BCMS competition cheerleaders traveled to another area affected by Michael, East Dublin, for the Falcon Frenzy hosted by East Laurens High School.

Divisions were divided into A/AA (based upon high school classification) and 3A-6A. Bleckley was the first of seven squads in their division to take the floor. As per usual, they were greeted with spirit from purple and gold clad supporters.

Motions were good. Jumps were solid. But a stunt group came down early. The pyramid did also. More importantly, someone’s knees hit the mat during the running tumbling sequence, a deduction. It was a factor later on.

When results were read, BCMS was announced as third place. Though not the finish anyone wanted, a trophy was still appreciated. Region opponent J.R. Trippe finished second. Though both schools had the same score, the Chiefs placed second because of having no deductions.

The Barons though will have time to improve, plus can take solace in getting third despite only one practice this week. They return to action October 27 in Swainsboro.
