Macey Haley gets under a ball in right field.

The last and only other time BCHS traveled to Harlem for the softball playoffs was 2012. Bleckley was swept that day. Unfortunately, Wednesday’s return trip didn’t turn out much better.

A six-run top of the fourth erased the Lady Dogs 4-0 lead in game one. Harlem though scored five more in the home half. Trailing 10-6 in the seventh, BC loaded the bases with one out but could only score once in losing 10-7. Riley Edge went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI. Macey Haley was 1 for 2 with a double and 3 RBI. Landa Dominy went 1 for 2 with 1 RBI. Abbey Sims went 1 for 2.

Riley Edge beat the ball to second base.

Trailing 4-0 in the bottom of the second of game two, a two on, no out opportunity produced no runs. Bleckley had a runner at second with one out in the third but couldn’t score. Errors contributed to three Harlem runs in the fifth. Edge had a two-out double in the home half that went for naught as the season ended 8-0.

Abbey Sims tags out a Harlem player before she can score.

The Lady Royals had more errors (five) than hits (two.) They finish the season with a 22-9 record.
