Royals struggle at Dodge County. ***Updated October 28 with stats.***

The BCHS Loyal Royals were loud and cheered on the team throughout.


BCHS returned to the field, looking to keep their slim playoff hopes alive against Dodge County. The Royals would need to win out plus get help in order to clinch the fourth seed. Though the game was close in the first half, Dodge put it out of reach in the third quarter.

Down 7-0 in the second, the Royals reached Dodge’s 13 but were stopped on fourth down. A 39-yard touchdown pass with 1:29 left increased the deficit to 14-0. R.J. Carr returned the second half opening kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown.

Carr’s 37-yard touchdown with 8:22 left made it 28-0 Indians. BC recovered a fumble near midfield in the fourth but couldn’t capitalize on the opportunity. DC’s final touchdown came with 8:35 left in the game. Bryce Bailey broke the shutout, going 88 yards a minute later.

The Royals lost 35-7, their fifth straight to Dodge County. Bailey ran for 135 yards. On defense, Willie Chambers had eight total tackles. Ty Williams and Arkenzio Hayes had six each.

A pair of Royals are in on the play.


Senior Night will be November 2 against Southwest. Ceremonies at 7 pm, kickoff at 7:30.
