For years, a favorite Christmas tradition for many local residents was to visit the Tripp Family Christmas Lights located on GA 257 in Empire. Started over 30 years ago, the Tripp Christmas Lights featured over 100,000 lights and holiday scenes. According to a release, Joe Tripp said they’d been unable to continue the tradition in recent times due to age and health issues.

That tradition though will be reborn this December thanks to another family. James and Leigh Anne Green, owners of Tom Sawyer Farms, will be bringing back the Tripp Family Christmas Lights. They’ll open December 1 and run through December 30.

Hours will be 6-9 pm Sunday-Thursday, 6-10 pm Friday and Saturday. Admission will be $3 per person. Tom Sawyer Farms is located at 952 Empire Chester Highway.
