Joseph Spires scores during BC's two-run fourth inning.

It was a cold, windy night as BCHS traveled to Dexter to take on West Laurens. And while the Royal offense did show flickers, it was cold also.

Tied at one in the fourth, BC scored twice on Joseph Spires’ triple and Lane Kitchens’ RBI hit. The Raiders though would score two in the home half. Bleckley loaded the bases with two outs in the fifth but couldn’t capitalize. WL scored one in their half, then added two more in the sixth to win 6-3.

Bleckley had just four hits. Spires, Steven Knighton, and Carson Water each went 1 for 2. Ten runners were left on base. Last week’s postponed season opener against Jeff Davis will be made up February 21 in Hazlehurst at 6 pm.
