Tripp Purser only gave up one earned run.

BCHS came into Tuesday night’s home opener against Jeff Davis after a pair of wins Saturday in Swainsboro. However, they likely left frustrated about a game they could’ve won.

Jack Fernandez had three hits.

Carson Waters’ second inning single cut a 2-0 deficit in half. But with two outs, an attempted double steal failed when the runner at third failed to break for home before the runner at first was tagged out in a rundown. Down 3-1 in the fourth, RBI hits by Lane Kitchens and Waters tied the score.

BC left the bases loaded in the fifth, the second time they’d done so. The Jackets leadoff batter reached and got to second on a dropped fly ball to begin the seventh. The next batter singled him in. Jack Fernandez singled with one out in the home half but was left at second as the Royals lost 4-3. They stranded 10 runners.

Lane Kitchens is parked under a high fly ball.

Fernandez was 3 for 4. Waters went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. Tripp Purser was also 2 for 3. Bleckley hosts West Laurens February 28. JV play at 4 pm with varsity to follow.
