Big inning helps Royals cruise past Red Devils.

It was another cold night as BCHS renewed their longtime rivalry with Hawkinsville in Cochran. A big inning and good pitching performance by Tripp Purser helped the Royals prevail.

Tied 1-1 in the third, Lane Kitchens scored the go-ahead run following an overthrown after he stole third base. Ten more runs scored. BC added another in the fourth en route to winning 13-1. Tripp Purser gave up one hit in five innings, striking out seven. Steven Knighton went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI. Andrew Thompson was 2 for 3 with a two-run double.

Brody Little was 1 for 2 with a two-run double. Kitchens was 1 for 2 with 2 RBI. Bleckley hosts Fitzgerald tomorrow. JV play at 4 pm, varsity to follow.
