Spring sports resumes next week for BCHS. Both baseball and girls soccer are having solid seasons and will be in the state playoffs. Here's a look at how each one might wind up.

Baseball:
BCHS currently leads 3-AA with a 9-1 region record following Tuesday's sweep (including the forfeit win) versus Southwest. They have two region games remaining.

Both are against Washington County. April 8 in Sandersville and April 12 at home for senior night. Besides Bleckley, the Golden Hawks have two other region games against East Laurens to finish their season.

Obviously if the Royals were to sweep both games, they'd secure top seed for the playoffs. A split would keep the chance alive, but would get into tiebreakers, scoreboard watching, etc. In terms of other common region opponents, Waco split with Dodge County. The Indians, currently in third place, swept fourth place East Laurens.

Girls soccer:
East Laurens girls lead the region with a 6-1 record. The Lady Royals are 5-1. Though Bleckley won when the teams met in Cochran, it was 3-2 in a penalty kick shootout. The Lady Falcons won previously 2-0.

That would be the first tiebreaker should the teams finish with a 7-1 region record. EL has one region game left, April 12 at Dublin. BC has two region contests remaining. April 12 at Dodge County, April 18 at Dublin.

Wins in the final two games would ensure the Lady Royals finish no worse than second and guarantee a home playoff game.
