Board of Education achieves GSBA Exemplary School Board Status.

The Bleckley County Board of Education announced they had achieved the status of the Georgia School Boards Association’s (GSBA) 2019 Exemplary School Board recognition. Bleckley was one of 55 out of 180 school districts to receive the recognition.

Standards for the program are based upon the Georgia State Board of Education’s standards for effective governance and were developed by Georgia superintendents and board members. Its goal is to showcase best practices in school governance and leadership.

According to a release, the Bleckley Board of Education exceeded the criteria set by GSBA to earn the honor of a 2019 Exemplary Board. Exemplary is part of a three-tiered recognition program done by GSBA Criteria for all three tiers can be found by going to
