Tuesday was senior night in Eastman. BCHS had little to play for in terms of playoff positioning. Dodge had already clinched, the Lady Royals second. Still, there was a desire to win fueled by a 9-0 loss at home to Dodge earlier plus the fact East Laurens had beaten the Lady Indians last week.

It included leaving the bases loaded in the third, two on in the fourth, having a runner thrown out at home in the fifth, and two more stranded in the sixth. Dodge got back to back home runs, a two-run shot and solo shot, to draw within 4-3 after six. Bleckley was retired in order in the seventh.

Dodge got a one-out walk. But Riley edge got the next two batters to preserve BC’s 4-3 win, their first against the Lady Indians since 2015. Clara Rickerson and Reagan Wimberly each went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI. BCHS closes out the home regular season against Southwest with a doubleheader September 26. Start time is 5:30 pm.
