A better day on the mat for BCHS.

It was a smaller division for BCHS to compete against at Saturday’s 19th annual Middle Georgia Cheer Classic hosted by Houston County High School. Just two other teams. The focus though for Bleckley was to improve on last week’s performance as they seek to win region and top last year’s fourth place finish at state.
Thanks to being close by, a large crowd was on hand for the performance. BCHS again had great tumbling, and good energy. Their motions were sharp. The pyramid looked better even with one part coming down during transition. However, one of the single base stunts failed to go up as did one of the extensions. One of the stunt groups didn’t stay up.
Though far from perfect, they did improve. Plus, Bleckley’s routine still had a higher degree of difficulty and more tumbling than the other AA squads (both region opponents.) Because of this, the announcement of awards proved to be good news as the Royals finished first.

Their score was 8.5 points better than last week. Head coach Heather Davis said she was proud of the improvement and wanted to continue to improve each time. BCHS will be in Vidalia for the Sweet Onion Cheer Classic October 5.
