Another step forward for BCHS.

While winning first place is always nice, the goal at regular season cheer competitions is to improve in both score and overall performance for both region and state. BCHS looked to do that Saturday at the Sweet Onion Cheer Classic in Vidalia.

Despite the longer trip, a large group of supporters were on hand to welcome BC as they took the mat. It was another overall good day. Motions were crisp. All four stunt groups stayed up and pulled all their stunts.

On the downside, there were timing issues on the single base stunts, not all stayed up. One flyer didn’t twist down from their stunt. The pyramid didn’t completely go. Still, there was an overall good feeling that the squad had taken a step forward.

Results wise, Bleckley was second out of nine teams, their overall score up three points. Coach Heather Davis was proud of the squad while continuing a desire to keep improving each week.

The Royals return to action October 19 at the East Laurens High School Falcon Frenzy.
