BCHS sought to get back on track Friday night against Washington County. Some big plays on offense and a couple of big stops at the end helped the Royals move to 2-1 in the region.

As part of youth football night, rec. department players and coaches got to run out of the tunnel with the team.

The Hawks marched down the field on their opening possession, scoring on a two-yard run. But the point after was missed. Though Bleckley’s first possession ended with an interception, Bryce Bailey’s 74-yard dash with 1:45 left in the first put the Royals ahead when Treg Corner made the PAT.

Bailey had a second touchdown run of 55 yards with 5:12 left in the second. Waco would try to answer, converting a fourth and one from their 41. But with less than a minute left in the half, the BC defense held on fourth and five from the Royal 29.

However, Waco would take the lead with 2:01 left in the quarter on a 28-yard touchdown run. Another two-point conversion failed. The Royals appeared ready to answer following a 43-yard reception by Marcus Brown. The drive though would stall on BC’s four early in the fourth.
