Most of the time, kids are ready to go home from school once the final bell rings. However, many children enjoyed being at Bleckley Primary Thursday afternoon because of some special activities happening both inside and outside.

Those going into BCPS saw the school turned into a jungle adventure. It was the annual literacy and math night. This year’s theme was “Wild about Literacy and Math.” There were a variety of games to promote both literacy and math.

Students could also shop at the book fair, win books at the book walk, and exchange books at the book swap. Many of the games were ran by students in Middle Georgia State University’s education program. Bleckley Primary thanks them for their help.

Meanwhile, the old baseball field had its own set of fun things for kids. Bleckley PTO sponsored a fall festival. There was a bounce house, games, face painting, plus pizza and cotton candy to munch on.

Money raised from the festival will help PTO with some of the many things they do including paying for field trips and the annual Teacher Appreciation Week held in the spring. The PTO appreciates everyone who stopped by.
