Amarion Blackshear drained this three.

It was another matinee affair for BCHS as they welcomed Perry to Cochran Saturday afternoon. Unlike two weeks ago against Northside, both teams played well in the second half en route to their first sweep of the season.

Shontavian Manuel scored late in the first half to draw BC to within two points.

The Panthers had an eight-point second quarter lead. Thanks in part to a pair of Amarion Blackshear three’s, BC was within 19-17 at halftime. Blackshear’s running layup in the final seconds of the third tied the score at 28.

Perry opened the fourth on a 12-4 run. Shontavian Manuel had five points, including the go ahead free throw, as the Royals answered with a 12-0 run of their own. Still up two with around one second left, Perry got the ball under their basket. BC defense prevented them from getting a clean shot as the Royals won 46-44. Blackshear scored 14 points, Manuel added 13 points.

Alyssa Fortune opened scoring with this short jumper.

Kiziya Elvine’s three with seconds left in the first put the Lady Royals ahead 15-9. Up eight at halftime, BC blew the game open in the third, outscoring Perry 20-6. They went on to win 56-20.

Tesa Taylor got past defenders to score.

Jalexia Taylor had 14 points. Markayla Jenkins added 13 points. Region play resumes December 10 at home versus Washington County. Varsity tip time is 6 pm.
