A new year always brings such promise, hope and new beginnings. The new pairing this year of Ms. Fran McNair and sixth grader, Amanda McClinton, offers all these things and more. These two have cultivated a closeness and trust that we usually observe after several months in the relationship.
Ms. McNair works at Bleckley County Middle School and carves out special time each week offer support and fun activities for her mentee. Fran became involved in our program to help a child stay on track, encourage and make a difference in a child’s life.
She is already accomplishing her mission, as they both created “vision boards” together sharing their dreams, goals and aspirations. This on-going project helps them choose positive images, writings and art to motivate for dreaming about the future.
Amanda looks forward to her mentoring hour with great anticipation. She says mentoring is great fun and she really like the time to talk, play games and bake!
Ms. McNair and Amanda are proof that a little bit of time can make a big difference! They both are very happy with their match as a CIS/FC Mentor/Mentee and hope others will join the team at Bleckley County Middle School!
