Same results, bigger margins, in split with Dublin.

When BCHS and Dublin met in December, both games were close as the girls won by two points, the boys lost by five. While the winners of Tuesday night’s rematches In Cochran were the same, the scores weren’t as close.

The Lady Royals led 20-12 at halftime. Free throws in the final minute pushed the lead to 11 after three quarters. BC held the Lady Irish to three points in the fourth quarter as they swept the season series, 43-24. Markayla Jienkins had 13 points. Ki’Ziya Elvine added 11 points.

Citizens Bank of Cochran was the boys game sponsor. Matt Fordham and BJ Coody are pictured with boys head coach Garrett Collins and cheer coach Chelsea Tyner. The basketball teams appreciate them as well as Tuesday night's girls game sponsor, Heartland EMS. (No photo available.)


It was 14-8 Irish after one quarter, but Bleckley was outscored 16-7 in the second. The Royals never got close in the second half in losing 61-35. Shontavnan Manuel had 12 points.

BCHS plays at Washington County January 17. Varsity tip time is 7 pm.
