Boys finish strong in sweep of J.R. Trippe.

It was a must win for the Barons as BCMS hosted J.R. Trippe Tuesday afternoon. A boys win and they would pull into three-way tie with the Chiefs and Dodge County for first place.

The Lady Barons trailed 18-17 at halftime and were down 25-24 after three thanks in part to going 0 for 4 from the foul line. Down 29-28 with under a minute left in the fourth, Ter’Nazia Elvine hit her second three of the half. The Lady Chiefs tied things at 31 with 14 seconds left.

Elvine hit one of two free throws with five seconds remaining. JRT appeared to tie the game on a free throw with three seconds left, but it was waived off due to a lane violation. BC hung on 32-21. Elvine had 16 points.

Leading 17-12 at halftime, the Barons went the first 4:25 of the third without a basket but still led 24-22 going to the fourth. Kamari Mack scored the first five points in an 13-3 finish as BC won 37-25. Mack finished with 13 points.

BCMS closes out the regular season February 6 at Dublin. Tip time is 4 pm.
